Welcome to Logan Lane Rat Terriers

Welcome to Logan Lane Rat Terriers.  We are the home of the first NBOB GRCH Logan Lane Kisme G. Lightening. Additionally she was First place in the Top Ten in the Nation.

At Logan Lane Rat Terriers we strive to produce the most conformationally correct specimens of the breed. Our dogs are registered both with United Kennel Club and with AKC Foundation Stock Registry.

We breed both miniature and standard varieties in tri-colors of black, white  and tan, chocolate, white and tan and  blue, white and tan.  We only breed dogs with perked ears.

Our Rat Terriers live in our home and are part of our family.  Occassionally we have puppies to approved homes only. When we have a littler our puppies are socialized indoors and come with a written health guarantee.

My name is Linda Hibbard and I am the author of Rat Terrier A Complete and Reliable Handguide. I have a true love and admirtion for the breed. We have been breeding Rat Terriers since 1995. They are a great breed, and will make a wonderful addition to the right family.

Future books include: The American Foxhound, The Plott Hound, The Black and Tan Coonhound and The Treeing Walker. They are being published by Kennel Club Books.

Rat Terrier A Complete and Reliable Handbook by Linda Hibbard, Published by TF. Rat Terrier A Complete and Reliable Handbook is the first book written on the Rat Terrier. It is a collectable piece of writing as it was written at a time when the Rat Terrier was not a recognized breed, but designated as a strain. Rat Terriers were a rare breed at the time the book was published in 1998.

Prior to the publication Rat Terriers were customarily registered with Universal Kennel Club, under their rare breed section. Universal Kennel Club had registered the Rat Terrier strains for upwards of 30 years. They were an excellent record keeping registry.

When the book came out in print interest grew in the breed. Universal agreed not to register any dog as a Rat Terrier that was known to be of cross-breeding, attempting to keep the strain pure.

By the following January the Rat Terrier was so popular that the breed was accepted by United Kennel Club as a pure bred dog. This was a milestone for the breed as the Rat Terrier continued to be bred to standards and was allowed to participate in conformation events sponsored by United Kennel Club. Today the Rat Terrier is a popular well known breed that has been accepted by The American Kennel Club into their Foundation Stock Registry.

Why the Book Was Written
The inspiration for the book came from my first Rat Terrier, Bridget. She was born in 1991 in Button Willow, Ca. She was an unforgettable dog, loving and loyal. She will never be forgotten.
